Forsythia intermedia
( Karl Sax Border Forsynthia )
| Karl Sax is a upright, deciduous shrub, with graceful arching branches with ovate to lance shaped leaves, toothed on the lower half. Deep, bright yellow flowers are borne in groups of 2 or 3 beginning in early spring. This lovely shrub is one of the earliest bloomers (the flowers arrive before the leaves) and makes for beautiful cut flowers. Fountain-like in shape, allow plenty of room for this back of the border plant. Smaller cultivara are available, some only a few feet tall. |
| Important Info : To force branches indoors, cut stem to desired length when buds are swollen, but not yet open. Immediately plunge branches in warm water. Over night, buds should gradually start to open. |
