| Primula macrophylla is a late bloomer that produces umbels of 5 to 25 salverform, purple flowers, 3/4 inch wide with darker eyes. This is a short-lived, deciduous perennial that is rosette forming and has lance-shaped, sometimes finely scalloped leaves, to 10 inches long, usually white-mealy on the undersides. In general, primroses like climates with cool summers. Best planted in rock gardens, bedding and containers. |
