|'Sundew' is a tufted annual, often grown as a perennial. The foliage is thread-like with a pale blue-green color, very finely divided. The flowers are fragrant and cheerful, lemon-yellow, satiny, 1 1/4 to 2 inches wide. On overcast days and at night, the flowers close up their petals. Very blowsy, casual plant, best used for cottage gardens, naturalizing. Sow seeds in place, not a good transplant. In mild winter areas, sow in the fall, in colder regions, sow in early spring. It self sows freely and grows wild on hillsides along the westcoast. Native of California.
