| Large, multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub or small tree grown for its beautiful, red and purple fall color. Covered with profuse, mildly fragrant arching racemes of white flowers up to 6 inches long. Blooms in spring. Edible purple-black fruit eaten fresh or in pies. Because roots are not aggressive and shade is not dense, this lovely plant is a superb choice for a perennial border or entryway. This cultivar is resistant to fireblight. Flowers are best seen when plant is located in front of dark background such as an evergreen border or wall. |
