| Acer buergerinum is a rare maple in North America and Europe. One of the most difficult to propagate, buergerinum is a spreading, deciduous tree with 3 1/2-inch dark green leaves above and blue-green on the undersides. Blooms in yellow flowers. The cultivar, 'Iwao kaede' is dense shrub and has larger leaves than the species. Leaves are dark green when young, turning to a bright red and dark green in maturity. Sometimes called "Rock Maple". |
