Panicum virgatum is an upright, clump
forming, perennial grass. Grass blades are gray green to deep green, flowers are loose, airy pinkish clusters, fading first to white, then brown. The grass turns a golden yellow in the fall, gradually fades color, but persists through the winter, providing interest. Tolerant of various soil types, moisture levels, even salt. Good as an accent plant, screen, or in a casual border. Native tall prairie grass of the Midwest. |
