| 'Brenenden' is an ornamental, spreading and arching, thornless, deciduous shrub with attractive peeling bark. Leaves are broad, ovate, deep green, up to 3" long, with 3-5 shallow lobes.
A profusion of saucer-shaped, pure white, single flowers, to 3" wide, are borne in late spring to early summer. Grows to 10' tall and wide. The Rubus genus is made up of flowering, and better yet, fruiting (yum) shrubs, including raspberries and blackberries, that may or may not have thorns.
There are both native and ornamental selections, some evergreen, some deciduous. Most brambles do well in full to partial sun and tolerate infrequent watering. |
