| P. rothschildianum has green leaves, up to 20 inches long, and in spring and summer, bears racemes of 2 to 6 flowers, with cream petals, spotted with purple and white upper sepals, spotted dark purple, and purplish brown, yellow edged pouches.
Thick, broad, strap-shaped green leaves, often mottled with light grey-green. Orchid-shaped blooms with a distinctive pouch are borne singly. Prefers cool to intermediate temperature and ample moisture. Some species require night chilling. Mottle-leafed species require less chilling at night. High humidity preferred during summer months. |
