Fatsia japonica
( Variegata Japanese Aralia )
| If you are looking for a coarse textured plant that will grow in deep shade, look no further. Growing to 10 feet tall and wide, fatsia has distinguishing palmate leaves that are shiny and medium green with striking edged golden yellow to creamy white edges. Umbels of white flowers appear in fall and are almost space-like in appearance. Black fruit follows. It is not uncommon for this plant to be sold as a houseplant. Well-drained soil is a must. Protect from drying winter winds. |
