|Erigeron aureus is a short-lived, perennial flowering daisy, mounding to 3 inches tall, with spoon-shaped, hairy, gray-green leaves. Flowers have narrow, thread-like ray florets in two or more rows. Summer flowers are up to 1 inch wide, with deep golden yellow rays, and greenish-yellow centers. They prefer sandy soil and should be cut back after flowering to prolong the flowering time. Native to the mountains of Western North America. Hybrids are available in various colors.
