| This upright shrub has woolly, evergreen foliage and bears unusual whorls of hooded flowers. Leaves are sage-like, oblong to lance-shaped and gray-green, to 2 inches long. Flowers are held on upright shoots, to 4 inches long. Excellent for the flower border. Mixes well with rock roses and lavender. If plant become too leggy, selectively prune back, no more than half the plant.
Phlomis italica bears lilac-pink flowers in midsummer. 12 inches tall, 24 inches wide. |
