| Florence Series cultivars tend to be fairly compact and bear flowers in white, pinks and reds.
C. cyanus is an easily seeded annual with grey-green foilage and blue, pink, burgundy, or white 1 inch flowerheads. Blue is the favorite and often used in boutonnieres. These plants are attractive to bees and butterflies, and are good cut flowers. Sow seeds late summer or early fall in milder climates or early spring in colder climates. Plants will do better if lime is added to the soil, especially in acidic areas. |
