Forsythia viridissima

| Frosythia viridissima is a erect deciduous or semi-evergreen shrub, with upright shoots remaining green in the second year. The branches growing up to 6 feet long. The leaves are medium to dark green, and lance-shaped. Deep, bright yellow flowers are borne singly or occasionally in pairs or threes, beginning in early spring. This lovely shrub is one of the earliest bloomers (the flowers arrive before the leaves) and makes for beautiful cut flowers. Fountain-like in shape, allow plenty of room for this back of the border plant. |
| Important Info : To force branches indoors, cut stem to desired length when buds are swollen, but not yet open. Immediately plunge branches in warm water. Over night, buds should gradually start to open. |
