| Viburnum macrocephalum is either deciduous or semi-evergreen, depending on climate. It is densely growing, and rounded in habit, 6 to 10 feet tall. The white snowball type flowers, lack fragrance but are very showy, with each floret over 1 inch diameter, blooming early summer. The flowers are sterile, so no fruit results. Likes well drained soil and a protected site.
In the south it behaves as a semi-evergreen and may reach 20 feet in height. A very showy specimen. Native to China, introduced 1844. |
