|Full, upright, sometimes weeping tree with green, spear-shaped, 4 to 6 inch leaves. In spring and summer white flowers appear in clusters along with tiny seed capsules. Makes a good shade or beach side tree. The foliage of nearly all species has a strong pungent odor similar to menthol. Well drained soil is preferable. Trees do very well planted from seed. Plant seeds in spring or summer keep shaded and water sparingly until 2 to 3 inches high.
