| Kalmia angustifolia is a low growing evergreen shrub, 1 to 3 feet tall, rounded and spreading, with blue-green foliage. In comes in two forms, one is compact and has dense tufts, the other is open, and thinly branched. Small, rose-pink to crimson flowers are borne in clusters, early to mid summer. Found in varying sites, from old pastures, rocky barrens, to wet sterile soils. Native from Newfoundland to Michigan, south to Georgia. |
