| Integrifolia, also known as Bat flower, is an erect, rhizomatous perennial with olbong or lance-shaped dark green leavves. Produces umbels of purple-red or brown flowers, surrounded by green or deep purple floral bracts. the innter 2 flowers are white, green or purple with pale green, thread-like appendages. In general, this stemless perennial, which is grown for its foliage and nodding, bell-shaped flowers, is native to West Africa and S.E. Asia. Leaves are either lance-shaped or oval and may be either entire or lobed. Soil should be moist year-round and foliage should be misted during the summer. For plants grown outdoors, soil should be acid. Fertilize with a half-strength foliar spray monthly. Your plant will be much happier if you repot it regularly, say every 2 or 3 years. |
