| The cultivar, 'Crippsii' grows to 30 feet tall, with a spread of 10 feet wide. Somewhat open, pyramidal habit with yellow foliage when young, turning dark green later. Use for line and pattern in Oriental gardens or against a fence, screen or wall.
C. obtusa is a medium large evergreen, under cultivation it usually does not exceed 40-50 feet tall, but with age will grow hight. Has a spread of 15-30 feet. Has a spreading, irregular, open form with darlk glossy green foliage. Very slow growing and is suited principally to a large oriental gard. Splendid bonsai subject. Prune to shape. |
