| Strong straight tree branching large at the top. Leaves grow to about 6 inches long and the bark is grey with dark red to violet spots. This variety is not usually grown for its small white, clustered flowers. The foliage of nearly all species has a strong pungent odor similar to menthol. Well drained soil is preferable. Trees do very well planted from seed. Plant seeds in spring or summer keep shaded and water sparingly until 2 to 3 inches high. |
