| This medium-sized tree's pendulous branches are covered with gray bark that turns olive green. Broad, rounded leaves accompanied by white to cream flowers and round, pea sized seed capsules cover this tree from October to April. Makes a nice shade tree. The foliage of nearly all species has a strong pungent odor similar to menthol. Well drained soil is preferable. Trees do very well planted from seed. Plant seeds in spring or summer keep shaded and water sparingly until 2 to 3 inches high. |
