| This large, dramatic, open tree with a curved top is prized for its ornamental structure. It produces rounded 3 to 5 inch leaves, two-toned, peeling, tan and cream bark with small insignificant flowers and small seed capsules. The foliage of nearly all species has a strong pungent odor similar to menthol. Well drained soil is preferable. Trees do very well planted from seed. Plant seeds in spring or summer keep shaded and water sparingly until 2 to 3 inches high. |
