| Strinking, round-headed tree that grows to a height of 40 to 60 feet. Leaves hold late and die off green or yellow-brown in fall. Leaves are elliptical and toothed. The bark occurs in raised checkered plates and is a blackish or gray-white color. Appears to grow well in clay soils and will wilthstand -25F. Acorns are sessile and grouped 1 to 4 together. This tree that shows great adaptability. |
