| The cultivar 'Fintona' one of the large cup varieties, blooms in a white perianth with pale yellow that changes to deep rose with age.
N. fintona is one of about 50 species of bulbous perennials, with thousands of cultivars. Most flower in spring, bearing 1 to 20 flowers, on leafless stems; most with yellow or white flowers; some have red, orange or pink coronas. 6 spreading petals surround a trumpet-shaped corona. Basal leaves are cylindrical or strap-shaped. Can be naturalized or forced to bloom indoors. Lift and divide clumps when flowering becomes sparse. |
