Narcissus
( Ice Follies Daffodil )
| A large-cupped daffodil. The solitary blooms appear on a leafless stem, with white petals surrounding a yellow cup. The cup gradually fades to white. Basal leaves are green and strap-shaped.
Daffodils are excellent for naturalizing along wood's edge, or as an underplanting in the perennial border or ground cover bed. Planting depth is roughly 3 times the width of the bulb. If planted in well drained soil, daffodils are virtually disease and trouble free. Once finished flowering, allow foliage to flop over and dry out. Divide if flower production or size has dwindled. |
