| This is a hardy, semi-shrubby, bushy perennial, to 39" tall and 20" wide. Leaves are ovate to elliptic, serrulate, medium green, to 1 1/2" long. Flowers are in tall, terminal spikes, and come in various shades of red, pink, orange, and sometimes yellow. Showy bracts are usually of similar color. Outstanding for mass plantings, borders, or containers. Thrives in full sun. Heat and drought tolerant. S. x jamensis is a hybrid of S. greggii and S. microphylla. |
