| This upright, evergreen shrub bears unusual whorls of hooded flowers. Leaves are woolly, lance-shaped, leathery and gray-green, to 4 inches long. Excellent for the flower border. Mixes well with rock roses and lavender. If plant become too leggy, selectively prune back, no more than half the plant.
Phlomis purpurea bears purple to pink, sometimes white flowers, 1 inch long, in summer. To 24 inches tall and wide. Spain, Portugal. |
