| A popular specimen plant, 'Graham Blandy' has an attractive columnar, upright form with dark green, rounded leaves and dense growth. Excellent tall informal screen if left unclipped. Tolerates pruning well for use as a hedge, in topiary work or formal gardens. Does not do well in alkaline soils or hot dry areas. B. s. 'Suffruticosa' is the true dwarf boxwood commonly seen in formal gardens. Plant in full sun or part shade. Hardy to zone 5b and grows to a height of 4 to 5 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide. Keep moist until completely established. Average water is needed during the growing season. Fertilize in early spring before new growth begins. Maintain shape and form with little pruning. Can be pruned or sheared to desired shape. |
