|A fast-growing, weeping tree with bright green leaves. Does not bear fruit. Bark is a light orange-brown. Withstands drought, salt, but prefers a well drained moist soil. The species is ubject to a variety of diseases, often infested with many pests in the southern U.S. Native to China, it was originally imported for the silkworm industry, it has now escaped and naturalized in many areas.
