| The more than thirty species of Nuphar, all distributed throughout the northern hemisphere, include the common yellow water lily, cow lily or spatterdock of North America and brandy bottle of Eurasia. Hardy perennials, they can be planted spring or summer, and year round in zones 8 to 10. They thrive in various situations, from flowing water to stagnant pools, from water only a few inches deep to 8 feet deep, from full sun to full shade. |
