| This is a short, spreading, deciduous perennial with tufts of medium green, lance-shaped leaves, up to 3" long, which are covered with grayish hairs. Late summer borne, Dianthus-like flowers are solitary, clear pink with white, lobed petals, to 2 1/2" wide. Grows to 2" tall and spreads 6". This delicate plant is easy to grow and is at home in the woodland or rock garden in acidic, well-drained soil that does not receive much winter moisture. Native to California. |
