| Clematis montana 'Grandiflora' is a highly vigorous, deciduous climber and belongs to AHS group 1. 3 to 4 inch wide solitary flowers, which are sometimes held in cymes, are freely borne on last year's shoots from late spring to early summer. Leaves are divided into 3 to 5 toothed, lance-shaped or widely oblong leaflets, up to 5 inches long. C. montana is very hardy and is highly suitable for sites which are cold and exposed. Native to the Himalayas, Western & Central China. Clematis montana 'Grandiflora' is also sometimes listed as C. montana f. grandiflora. |
