| Bignonia capreolata is a semi-evergreen to evergreen climbing vine with tendrils, will cover 30-50' structure or creep along the ground. Leaves are dark green in summer, reddish purple in cold weather, foliage is somewhat sparse, needs full sun to develop good cover. Flowers are trumpet-shaped orangey red-brown, 1-2" long, borne in clusters of 2-5, with an interesting mocha fragrance. It is an adaptable tough plant that needs to be pruned to keep it in check. Native from Virginia to Illnois, south to Florida, Louisiana. |
