| 'Prostrata' grows in a dwarf and prostrate form. It features densely arranged, flat needles. Popular as a Christmas tree, Abies balsamea rarely grows above 50 feet. Lustrous, dark green leaves are 1-inch long, forward pointing. Cones are blue-violet when young, turning gray-brown. Grows best in cooler climates and plenty of sun. Soil should be acidic. |
