Tony Hickman’s Pumpkin Patch
Hello pumpkin enthusiasts.
My Name is Tony Hickman and I live in Adelaide, South Australia.
Duncan and I have made this web page to help all the people suffering the winter blues out there and to assist some fellow Aussie growers.
I will post updates regularly when things start happening.
I had trouble germinating seeds and finally had success on the 6th of December 2000.
The best plant to come up was from an unknown pumpkin under 400lbs and this is the one I planted.
I hope to enter a competition on the 28th of April.
Here’s the first of many pictures to come. It’s hard to judge the size of the plant due to the big gnomes so I put myself in the next picture.
It’s the 14th of January 2001. It’s 43 degrees C outside. Too hot for gardening…too hot for fishing….just right for a beer or two.
Anyway…..here’s the pictures.
Not a lot to report. The plant is doing well and has
now covered the gnomes, you can just see them if you look hard. There are two giant corn plants in there also. |
