Lavender and Columbine, and end with the Aster ‘Woods Pink: Some plants, such as Scabiosa ‘Pink Mist,’ may also add late fall color. Throughout the season, Ajuga Burgundy Glow’ will provide a soft pastel edging after its blue flowers of spring have ended. This garden can fit into almost any square area or be split into two complementary corner plantings. Using pastels in more distant parts of the garden can make a small landscape look larger. This garden can be enlarged by selecting other plant favorites or increasing the quantity of each plant used. This group of plants will grow well in full sun with excellent soil drainage. Soil should be constantly moist but not overly wet. Most of these perennials are not very drought-tolerant and will need irrigation during dry periods. Planting pastel-flowering perennials is a superb way to create a peaceful spot in your garden.

‘Newton Pink’ will make this a Zone 4 garden collection.
- Include shrubs such as Alpine Currant or Lilacs to add fragrance and grace.
- The hotter the summer climate you live in, the more shade this garden will need. In cool summer areas, plant the garden in full sun.
- Add plenty of organic compost to each planting hole and mulch heavily in hot summer areas.
